One Baton Rouge couple wanted to get their home up and running quickly to normalize their children's lives. A simple, open floor plan in this small home did the trick. Jerad Gardenal of Beth Claybourn Interiors worked quickly to simplify the family's life and belongings and get them a home that was both comfortable and relaxing. He used rugs to divide the open floor plan into distinct living spaces, foyer, family room and dining room. The colors were all soft natural tones with touches of color on the upholstery and on the lampshades. The natural tones transition from space to space and the highlight of colors with the lamps and accessories provide quiet, soft interest. A vari- ety of textures are used in the monochromatic home to create interest without being busy. Jerad used mirrors to create the illusion of more space, especially in the small dining room. Comfortable and elegant, the simple design was perfect for the small home. Simplifying our lives can be a good thing. The Family room area. Soft whites and beiges are textured throughout the areas in the flowers, fabrics and textures. The throw pillow tones, wood and leather tones pull the space together. A beautiful glass table and metal cocktail table keeps the seating space open and airy.
