Rosemary John (left) and Thomas Mungall (right) are awarded the Caledonian Society of Baton Rouge Thistle Award by Vice President Ricks Bowles (center) at this winter's St. Andrew Dinner held at Broadmoor Presbyterian Church. The Thistle Award is the Caledonian Society's highest honor and is to award members whose actions have furthered Scottish culture and their communities. At the Children's Carnival Ball held at the New Orleans Country Club are King Andrew Grant Seba with his grandmother, Lydia Grant, Children's Queen 2010 Seba and Emily Seba. Guest speaker LSU AgCenter horticulturist Dan Gill, center, visits with LSU Faculty and Staff Retirees Club members Satish Verma, Jeanette McMurry, Mary Lou Hutchinson and Charles Severance. LSU Hilltop Arboretum's annual symposium "Nourishing Gardens: Adding Fruit, Vegetables and Herbs to Your Garden" at the LSU School of Design are Randy Harelson, Suzanne Turner, Peter Hatch, Peggy Davis, and Dr. Jeff Kuehny. Wilson, a former LPS president and author of a new book on Louisiana wildflowers, gave an in-depth look at the importance of using a tripod, including the pros and cons of various brands.
