Cynics continue to proclaim the imminent death of Facebook, despite ever-increasing usage numbers and revenue. Michael Climek spoke at PRAL-BR's monthly luncheon about the future of social media—fads, trends, hardware and why Facebook is here to stay, whether we like it or not. Michael Climek is the manager of the LSU Public Policy Research Lab. He has over eight years of market research experience with positions in the fields of higher education, public relations and video games. Climek earned his MBA at Baruch College in New York City with a dual major in marketing and international business. Climek's research specialties include focus group moderation, social media monitoring and analysis and multi-mode survey design. The Public Relations Association of Louisiana's Baton Rouge Chapter is the largest, most dynamic public relations organization in the state, consisting of more than 200 highly qualified public relations and communication professionals across the greater Baton Rouge metropolitan area. PRAL is an affiliate of the Southern Public Relations Federation (SPRF), a 501(c)(6) not-for- profit, tax-exempt,commercially oriented business league, and consists of a network of public relations professionals from Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and North Florida. SPRF is led by a volunteer board of directors and is considered the premier professional development organization for public relations practitioners in the Gulf South region.
