You bought all your workout gear...then life happened! Now here we are! Summer is in full-swing and so are family cookouts, graduation celebrations, wedding receptions and, not to mention, frozen cocktails. If you feel like you are falling off the wagon, you are not alone. Good news is that there are 3 easy tips to help you get back on track and help you enjoy your summer while staying fit! 1. Workout in the morning. Scheduling time to workout in the summer can be tricky. So set your alarm a bit earlier and get your workout done first thing in the morning. Don't make excuses. Get up and get it done. 2. Infuse your water. STOP. Walk away from the diet sodas! Be smart about how you hydrate yourself. Quench your thirst with water infused with your favorite fruits like kiwi, cucumbers, strawberries and many more. 3. Pack your breakfast and lunch. Packing and prepping your meals is a good idea year- round, especially in the summer. This can not only help you lose weight but also save more money. 4. Host a clean dinner party. I have done it in the past and its tons of fun. Nothing is better than spending time with friends while fueling your body with healthy foods. 5. Be happy. Celebrate your healthy habits instead of looking at them like a chore. So many times we look at eating healthy and working out as an obligation and that can be harmful to our mental health. Don't forget to celebrate your fitness victories, no matter how big or small. Summer is short and life is good. Soak it up! Tanesha Craig, a native of Louisiana, has always had a heart for people and changing lives. She is a graduate of both Louisiana State University and Southern University A&M College. Craig began her career as a secondary educator in the Baton Rouge area but has always had a goal to own her own business and become an entrepreneur. Craig became certified in personal and group fitness training and launched her own company XtremeLife Fitness in Fall 2013. In 2014, she created the Louisiana Fit Chicks fitness and health expo, an event that brings awareness to women across the state of Louisiana. Craig's main goal is not only to help individuals lose weight, but also to empower them to become healthier physically, mentally and spiritually.
