Olinde is a graduate of Catholic High of Pointe Coupee. He received his BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. He has held the position of Chief Executive Officer at Pointe Coupee General Hospital for the past 12 years. Mr. Olinde is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He chairs the St. Mary Church finance committee and serves on the Arbor Family Health Centers board. Chad has been a member of the New Roads Lions club since 1995 and has held the positions of president and carnival treasurer. Chad is married to his wife of 27 years, the former Jeanne Guerin. Together, they reside in Ventress and have two daughters, Madeline Claire and Kristen Renee Olinde. Chad is the son of Sadie Jarreau Olinde and the late James Olinde. The 2018 Lions Carnival Diamond Jubilee Queen is Miss Katie Madison Gummow, a native and lifelong resident of New Roads. She and her family are active members of St. Mary of False River Catholic Church. She is a 2014 graduate of Catholic Interparochial School of Pointe Coupee, where she was a member of Beta Club, the Cross Country Team, who were 2012 State Champions, and served as a Maid on the Homecoming Court. She is senior at the University of Mississippi, majoring in Integrated Marketing Communications and is a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. The Queen is a member of a family long identified with the governmental, commercial and cultural life of the state. Gummow was a Duchess in the Lions Carnival Court of 2014. She was preceded in her reign over the Carnival by her maternal grandfather, now Privileged Lion, James Madison Bouanchaud, who was King in 1972; her aunt, Margo Eugenia Bouanchaud, Queen in 1979, now Mrs. Lance Hayes; and uncle James Madison Bouanchaud, Jr., King in 2006. The Queen is the daughter of Mrs. Sara Bouanchaud Gummow and Lion Kevin Gummow, who has served as Chairman of the past eight parades. She has one brother, Master David Bouanchaud Gummow. The Queen is also the granddaughter of Mrs. Sarita Bouanchaud of New Roads, and Mrs. Naomi Gummow and the late Mr. Allen Gummow of Rockton, Illinois. 30 Photos by Mary Denny New Roads Lions Club
