If you listen to the wind carefully, you may hear whispers of the tale of Iduna and how her magic apples kept the great god Odin, his brother Loki and all of the other gods from growing old…once upon a time. The story of Iduna and her magical apples set the stage for a beautiful night celebrating the 58 th year of the Krewe of Iduna with the theme: "Forever Young, the History and Traditions of Iduna." It truly was a night to remember as Ball Captain Gerianne Pearson Todd presided over the festivities on January 6 th at the Raising Cane's River Center Exhibition Hall. Adorned in shades of gold and forest green with fur trim, King Bragi LVIII Andrew Alvin Navarre, husband of Ina Gremillion Navarre, met his beautiful, Queen Iduna Alana Kendall Voorhies, daughter of Roxane Sims Voorhies and Paul Voorhies. Together, they celebrated all that glitters at Ball Iduna and charmed the members of the Krewe. Ladies-in-waiting to the Ball Captain were Sarah Elizabeth Lindrew, daughter of Todd and Susan Lindrew; Madison Claire Calandro, daughter of Kelley Lachney and Stephen Calandro; Caydi Marie Caraccioli, daughter of Lance Caraccioli and Nicole Gee; and Emma Rose Leger, daughter of Jessica and David Leger. Attending King Bragi were Esquire Wyatt James Jones, son of Jennifer Layne and Mickey Jones; Esquire Connor Cain McGehee, son of Charlotte and Troy McGehee; and Page Jaxton Carlos Menke, son of Ashlee and TJ Menke. Queen Iduna was attended by six lovely Maids. Miss Chancely Nicole Courson, daughter of Gaye and William "Bud" Courson, portrayed "Harp" and was escorted by her father. Miss Piper Kate Daniel, daughter of Sheree Daniel and Thomas Daniel Jr., portrayed "Freya" and was escorted by her father. Miss Elyane Catherine Elnaggar, daughter of Allison Elnaggar and Sharif Elnaggar, portrayed "Flame"; her escort was Duke Trey Voorhies, son of Krewe member Roxane Sims Voorhies and Paul Voorhies. Miss Hannah Christine Keiser, daughter of Mary and Shawn Keiser, portrayed "Everlasting Spring" and was escorted by her father. Miss Caitlin Annaleigh Winter, daughter of Ami Gremillion Winter, portrayed "Sparrow" and was escorted by her godfather, Duke Christopher James Gremillion. Miss Cara Elizabeth Winter, daughter of Ami Gremillion Winter, portrayed "Winter" and was escorted by Duke James Francis Riente Jr. Mrs. Carol Guion and Mrs. Susan Lindrew designed and executed the beautiful court costumes. All Hailed Their Royal Majesties! Mardi Gras magic was spun throughout the night with music by the Tip Tops, flowers by A Cottage Patch, glamour and beads galore. Krewe of Iduna 34
